A full exam, a cleaning with your hygienist, and x-rays when they're due rather than at every visit.

Fillings & crowns
Tooth-coloured composite and same-day crowns milled here, so a broken tooth is one appointment rather than three.

Invisalign & braces
A scan, a plan and a price at the consultation, with the aligners made and monitored in-house.

Whitening & veneers
In-chair or take-home whitening, and porcelain veneers when whitening isn't going to get there.

Root canals & extractions
Done here rather than referred out, including wisdom teeth in most cases, with sedation available.

Emergencies
We hold slots every morning for pain, a broken tooth or a lost crown. Call before nine and you'll be seen that day.

For anyone who hasn't been here before, whether or not you have insurance. It's a full hour with a hygienist and a dentist, and there's nothing to buy at the end of it.

Insurance & money
What it costs and who pays for it.
Do you direct bill my insurance?
Yes, to every major insurer in Canada. You pay whatever your plan doesn't cover and nothing else, and we'll tell you that number before the appointment rather than at the desk afterwards.
What if I don't have insurance?
We charge the Ontario Dental Association fee guide, which is the published rate, and we'll give you a written estimate before anything is booked. For larger treatment we can split it across three or six months with no interest.
Do you take the Canadian Dental Care Plan?
We do, along with ODSP and Healthy Smiles Ontario for children. Bring the paperwork to your first visit and the front desk will handle the rest.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, all three of us. A first appointment is usually available within two weeks, and same-week if you're flexible on the time.
What happens at a first visit?
A full hour. A hygienist takes x-rays and does the cleaning, then a dentist goes through everything with you and writes down what needs doing, what can wait and what each one costs.
I've had a bad experience before.
Say so when you book and we'll put you with Dr. Marchetti and give you a longer appointment. Nothing gets done at that visit unless you want it to, and you can stop at any point without explaining.
The practice
Twenty-eight years on Dundas East.
Alderwyn has been in the same unit since 1998 and most of our patients have been coming for more than a decade. Their children come now too, which is the only measure of a dental practice that means anything.
We run to time. If we're going to be late you'll get a text before you leave the house, because sitting in a waiting room past your appointment is the part people remember.
